Established in 2015 with a 50 liter nano system, we have grown and matured into a brewery that takes great pride in the sessionality and flavor of our brews.

Our early success with our flagship beer, the Car Park John amber ale, has given us the confidence to produce a wide range of over the top, bespoke and seasonal beers some of which have won national awards.

Thanks to a growing demand our brewery expanded significantly and relocated to its present location. Our canning line ensures that our brews delivered fresh and with all the flavor we envisioned when we prepared our beloved recipes.

Shortly after opening a new brewery and due to popular demand, we opened our tap room.

We are not only about beer. All craft beverages are our bread and butter so come and enjoy our hard lemonade, Jane Doe, or our range of Wawu Tonics which pair perfectly with our own berry infused London Dry Gin, Pretty Poison.

Which Wine Regions Are In California

From North to South, the main regions are Mendocino, Lake, Napa Valley, Sonoma, Livermore Valley, Lodi, Sierra Foothills, Santa Cruz Mountains, Monterey, Paso Robles and Santa Barbara.

California is a vast region that consists of several smaller wine-producing areas. Although Napa Valley and Sonoma are what California is most known for, the states other regions produce equally outstanding wines.

Napa Valley and Paso Robles are renowned for the bold reds of Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel, as well as the scenic wine route which offers unique experiences to wine lovers. On the contrary, Santa Barbara and The Russian River Valley, with conditions more suited to delicate grapes, produce outstanding expressions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Each of these regions offers a unique take on the wines of California allowing for a greater expression and experience of what the Golden State can truly offer.

Where In California Is The Wine Country

The Californian wine country is in the North San Francisco Bay area, with over 800 wineries located all along this scenic route. The Bay area encompasses some of the world’s most famous wine regions, including Napa Valley and Sonoma.

The success of these famous regions within the Bay area is largely to do with the sound soil composition and ideal climatic conditions. Each region is fortunate to have a wide range of temperatures and soil types, allowing the brilliant variety of grapes to thrive here.

As a white wine, Bread & Butter Chardonnay must be chilled before serving. Changing the temperature of wine always needs to be done slowly. So, popping the bottle of Chardonnay in the freezer to chill it when your guests are knocking on the door, is not going to score you many points. So, a little planning is required.

If you really are short of time, then half an hour in an ice water bath will suffice, but an hour in the refrigerator will be far better. The shape of the glass is going to play a role in your enjoyment of the wine. A glass with a narrow bowl will accentuate the oakiness, which some may find less appealing. Chardonnay glasses need more room. The rounded bowl and wider mouth allow the different layers and aromas of the wine to be more easily appreciated.

Situated in a rustic court yard with a tented canopy and wood fired heaters, our Tap Room has as much atmospheres as our brews have character. If beer is not your thing, our bar boasts a vast array of selected craft gins, expertly garnished to your taste.

How Is Bread & Butter Chardonnay Made

Bread & Butter Chardonnay is made from one hundred percent Chardonnay grapes. The grapes are, however, sourced from two distinct regions and the blending of these two ingredients creates a perfectly balanced wine. Expert wine-making skills match the boldness of the grapes from the Carneros region with the more subdued and subtle grapes from the Arroyo Seco region.

The big flavors of the grapes from the Carneros region are fermented in one-year-old American oak barrels for four months. Meanwhile, the Arroyo Seco grapes enjoy an eight-month sojourn in new French oak. This produces a wine with light woodiness and a delicate creaminess.
