Tips For Making This Bread

Easy Paleo Bread Recipe
  • Make sure you get golden flaxseed meal. Regular flaxseed meal has a much darker color and a stronger flavor that can be overpowering in bread. Read up on the difference here.
  • Use a mild olive oil, not a robustly flavored one, unless you are intentionally going for a more olive oil-flavored loaf.
  • Like any gluten free recipe, substitutions can be a little tricky. In this recipe, you can use your favorite liquid oil in place of the olive oil, but I recommend you stick to the correct types and quantities of flour to get the best result.
  • As it bakes, you may notice that a little hat of crust pops up on one side or the other of the loaf. This is normal and indicates that the bread is rising as it should. Bread without gluten, grains, or gums is not very stretchy, so youll get a unique shape to the top of the loaf every time.

In summary, this rich and hearty paleo bread is delicious, filling, and suitable for any purpose. Enjoy!

Optional Ingredients But Recommended For The Best Keto Bread:

While the above ingredients are the only ones absolutely necessary, Ill go over what each of the optional ingredients does, so that you can decide whether you want to include them. My recommendation is to use them all if you can, for the best keto bread.

  • Sweetener The bread is not sweet, but adding sweetener balances out the salt and makes it taste neutral so that your keto white bread is just like a regular white bread. I highly recommend Besti sweetener, because it has a clean sweet taste and wont crystallize when you store the bread. But, any sweetener you have should work use the conversion calculator and my guide on keto sweeteners to learn more.
  • Xanthan gum The purpose of the xanthan gum is to make the bread more chewy and more sturdy. It still works without it, but is even better if you include it. You decide!
  • Cream of tartar This is an acid found in the baking aisle that helps stabilize the egg whites, helping them achieve stiff peaks better. If you dont have it, you can skip it, but then youll want to avoid carton egg whites and its extra important for your egg whites to be at room temperature.

How To Make Paleo Bread With Coconut Flour

How To Make Paleo Bread Without Yeast

Coconut flour does NOT work the same as regular flours. It is VERY absorbent and youll notice any recipe that calls for coconut flour uses very little flour with a lot of eggs. This helps to counteract the drying effect coconut flour can have on baked goods while adding volume to the recipe.

When using coconut flour recipes, make sure to follow the recipe exactly as written. Any substitutions will most likely result in a failed attempt.

Baking With Paleo Flour

Baking with paleo flour can be a bit of a challenge, as it is not as refined as other types of flour. However, it can be a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional flour, and can be used in many different recipes. When baking with paleo flour, it is important to use a recipe that is specifically designed for it, as it will not work as a substitute for traditional flour in most recipes. There are a variety of paleo flour recipes available online, so finding one that works for you should not be difficult.

Paleo flour blends are a good match for grain-free flour mixes because they combine the best of the best. Animal foods, such as wild-caught fish, bison, deer, turkey, and eggs, account for 60 percent of the protein content of a Paleo diet. Raw foods like these contain a wide range of nutrients as well as antioxidants. This Paleo, all-purpose flour mix contains roughly half a cup of the amount listed below. Each serving contains 11 grams of healthy fats, 9 grams of fiber, 6.5 grams of protein, and 7 milligrams of sodium. This grain-free flour mix contains four ingredients in addition to almond, arrowroot, coconut, and tapioca flour.

How To Make White Chocolate Bread Pudding

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Set out a 9 x 13-inch baking dish and grease thoroughly.

Cut the brioche bread into 1-inch cubes and place in the baking dish. Sprinkle 1 cup of white chocolate chips over the top of the brioche. Then jiggle the pan a little so that some of the white chocolate chips work their way down through the cracks.

In a large bowl, combine the half-and-half, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk well until very smooth.

Pour the cream and egg mixture evenly over the surface of the bread cubes so it can soak in.

Pro Tip: At this point, you could wrap and chill the bread pudding for later use. Bake within 2 days.

Loosely tent the top with foil and place it in the oven for 45 to 55 minutes, until the center is puffed and the top is golden.

How To Make Paleo Bread

The key to making the best ever paleo bread recipe is using ingredients that will result in a chewy and stretchy texture, just like regular bread. The dry ingredients for this bread recipe are arrowroot starch, psyllium husk, baking soda and salt. The psyllium husk helps the bread obtain a stretchy, almost gluten-like feel.

The wet ingredients for this paleo bread are really interesting. They start with flax seed meal soaked in water until it blooms and gets gelatinous. While the flax seeds are blooming, beat some pasture raised eggs with honey then add the flax seeds, honey, and almond butter.

Almond butter not only adds a good bit of fat, but some much needed moisture to this gluten free bread. A little bit of apple cider vinegar also helps the bread rise and react with the baking soda to help leaven the paleo bread.

Combine the wet ingredients with the dry, transfer to a loaf pan covered with parchment paper, and bake for 30-35 minutes. The paleo bread is ready when the crust is dark and shiny or the internal temperature reaches 199 degrees F. I highly recommend inserting a digital probe thermometer in the center of the bread after 25 minutes.

One of the benefits of Paleo bread is that you do not have to knead the dough or even wait for the bread to rise. You simply mix all of the ingredients together and, within half an hour, have a loaf ready to go. Out of the oven comes grain-free, dairy-free, and even yeast-free bread for making that BLT or morning French toast.

The first time that I tried to make a Paleo version of sandwich bread, I used sunflower seed butter. I used to really like the combination of honey and sunflower seeds in a loaf of bread, and since I had the sunflower seed butter on hand I used it instead of almond butter. I was very excited, the loaf turned out looking greatbut then I set it out to cool. The loaf of bread slowly turned a vivid shade of green.

I had no idea what had happened, but knew I would probably not be taking photos of that particular loaf to share with you all. I didnt even know if I could eat it. Luckily after a bit of research I found out the true cause. It turns out, when sunflower seeds are cooked together with baking soda, they react by turning bright green. Its also completely safe to eat, though it looks quite strange. The entire baking incident turned out to be a happy accident because I made it the weekend before St. Patricks Day. So I found myself with a loaf of green bread in spirit of the holiday. I had stumbled upon a natural form of food coloring, completely by accident.
