Love The App When It Works
Ok, this is really getting annoying! When the app received its newest update version the app would not open! Realize everyone that updated to the new version was also experiencing the same thing! Wrote a review and the developers advised to delete the app. Once that was done the app worked. Now as of April 1, 2021 the app is blank for todays reading, and when you click on the month it opens and the spinning wheel just continues to spin like its trying to open! VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! I thought it was a April fool joke but this is getting annoying because the next day its the same! Someone on the develop team is/has been slacking on working out the quirks to this app!!! And other main issue is when the new version was updated you all took away the motivation count of how many days being read! This was a cool feature and very motivating!! WHY?!??! Not liking none of this. And when mentioned about the day count on my last review complaint, the developers only address the crashing of the new version, and failed to mentioned about the day count. Could address that as well please?!?!?!? God bless!!!
Our Daily Bread 23rd August 2021 Devotional Message Written By Mike Wittmer
Topic: Loving Your Enemy
Todays Scripture: Acts 1:1-8
Key Verse: You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria. Acts 1:8
Bible in a Year: Psalms 113115 1 Corinthians 6
INSIGHT:
After conquering the Northern Kingdom of Israel, the Assyrians adopted a policy of racial assimilation. They deported the Jews to Assyria and brought in other people groups to repopulate Samaria and marry the remaining Jews still in the land.
This new group, the Samaritans, eventually devised their own religion, a hybrid of Judaism and paganism with a temple of their own on Mount Gerizim , creating deep-seated hostility between the two peoples . In the beginning of Jesus ministry, when reaching the Jews was His priority, He told His disciples not to go to the gentile or Samaritan towns to preach . Before He ascended into heaven, Jesus specifically commanded His disciples to be witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth .

The Topic of Our Daily Bread For 1st April 2021 is So Helpful.
Bible in a Year: Judges 1315, Luke 6:2749
Memory Verse: Romans 12:13
Todays Scripture & Insight: 1 Peter 4:711
In 1 Peter 4:1011, Peter briefly mentions the value of spiritual gifts, a topic Paul discusses more fully in Romans 12:48 and 1 Corinthians 1214. Romans 12 gives what some scholars view as a sampling of spiritual gifts. In 1 Corinthians 1214, Paul lists many of those same gifts, but adds several others.
The main feature of 1 Corinthians 12, however, is that it provides the primary purpose of gifts: Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good . Notice the phrase for the common good. Our gifts arent for us theyre for one another. When all the members of the body are using their gifts, all members of the body are being served well.
Odb Message For Today
The caller to the Christian radio station said that his wife was coming home from the hospital following surgery. Then he shared something that spoke deeply to my heart: Everyone in our church family has been so helpful in taking care of us during this time.
When I heard this simple statement, it reminded me of the value and necessity of Christian hospitality and care. I began to think that the love and support of fellow believers for one another is one of the greatest ways to demonstrate the life-changing power of the gospel.
In First Peter, the apostle was writing a letter to be circulated among the first-century churches in whats now the country of Turkey. In that letter, he compelled his readers to do something that his friend Paul wrote about in Romans 12:13: Practice hospitality. Peter said, Love each other deeply . . . offer hospitality, and he told them to use the gifts God gave them to serve others . These are clear directions to all believers in Jesus for how were to treat fellow believers.
All of us know people like that callers wifethose who need someone to come alongside and show concern and Christlike love. In Gods strength, may we be among the ones who are noted for being so helpful.
Reflect & PrayWhat has God equipped you to do for those in need? How has God revealed His own hospitable nature?Loving God, help me to look around for people who need an encouraging word or action from me. Then help me offer hospitality to them.

Todays Scripture : Jude 1:1723
Insight
By: Monica La Rose
Message : The shepherd needs great wisdom and a thousand eyes, wrote the beloved church father John Chrysostom, to examine the souls condition from every angle. Chrysostom wrote these words as part of a discussion on the complexity of caring well for others spiritually. Since its impossible to force anyone to heal, he emphasized, reaching others hearts requires great empathy and compassion.
But that doesnt mean never causing pain, Chrysostom cautioned, because if you behave too leniently to one who needs deep surgery, and do not make a deep incision in one who requires it, you mutilate yet miss the cancer. But if you make the needed incision without mercy, often the patient, in despair at his sufferings, throws all aside . . . and promptly throws himself over a cliff.
Theres a similar complexity in how Jude describes responding to those led astray by false teachers, whose behavior he describes starkly . Yet when Jude turns to how to respond to such grave threats, he doesnt suggest reacting with harsh anger.
Instead, he taught that believers should respond to threats by rooting themselves even more deeply in Gods love . For its only when were deeply anchored in Gods unchanging love that we can find the wisdom to help others with appropriate urgency, humility, and compassion the way most likely to help them find healing and rest in Gods boundless love.
Our Daily Bread 10 December 2021
In 2010, at the age of ninety-four, George Vujnovich was awarded the bronze star for organizing what the New York Times called one of the greatest rescue efforts of World War II. Vujnovich, son of Serbian immigrants to the US, had joined the US Army. When word arrived that downed American airmen were being protected by rebels in Yugoslavia, Vujnovich returned to his familys homeland, parachuting into the forest to locate the pilots. Dividing the soldiers into small groups, he taught them how to blend in with the Serbs . Then, over months, he walked each small group out one at a time to C-47 transport planes waiting at a landing strip theyd cut out of the woods. Vujnovich rescued 512 elated, joyful men.
David described the elation of being rescued by God from enemies whod hemmed him in with no escape. God reached down from on high and took hold of me, David said, he drew me out of deep waters . King Saul, enraged with jealousy, hounded David, ruthlessly seeking blood. But God had other plans. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, David recounted, from my foes, who were too strong for me .
God rescued David from Saul. He rescued Israel from Egypt. And in Jesus, God came to rescue all of us. Jesus rescues us from sin, evil, and death. Hes greater than every powerful enemy.
Reflect: Where do you feel hemmed in, with no escape from lies you believe or sin that binds you? How do you see Jesus coming to rescue you?

For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.
Abraham is known as the Father of many nations. He is a role model of faith and righteousness. He is chosen by God to lead his children and his family. How about modern-day fathers?
Many fathers face challenges on a day-to-day basis. Fathers are called to provide for the family in all ways financially, emotionally, spiritually and physically. As fathers, how do we stand strong when we are still trying to find our way at the same time?

Today’s Scripture : Colossians 4:26
Insight
In Colossians 4:26, Paul draws our attention to his commitment to the Great Commission. Before we tell others about Jesus, Paul instructs us to spend time talking with God about those who dont yet believe in Him. The Greek word translated devote means to give attention to to spend much time together. Effective evangelism begins with praying for opportunities to share our faith in Jesus, asking for courage to talk about Him and for clarity of our message . Were to make the most of every opportunity when it comes to sharing the good news . Paul advocates living a life that draws others to Christ . Jesus spoke of letting our light shine before others, that they may see good deeds . Peter tells us to be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks . . . the reason for the hope that have .

Message : Seneca, the great philosopher of ancient Rome , was once accused by the empress Messalina of adultery. After the Senate sentenced Seneca to death, the emperor Claudius instead exiled him to Corsica, perhaps because he suspected the charge was false. This reprieve may have shaped Senecas view of thankfulness when he wrote: homicides, tyrants, thieves, adulterers, robbers, sacrilegious men, and traitors there always will be, but worse than all these is the crime of ingratitude.

Message: Our Daily Bread Devotional
Some years ago, a man walked about a block ahead of me. I could clearly see that his arms were full of packages. All of a sudden, he tripped, dropping everything. A couple of people helped him to his feet, assisting him in collecting what hed dropped. But they missed somethinghis wallet. I picked it up and took off in hot pursuit of the stranger, hoping to return that important item. I yelled Sir, sir! and finally got his attention. He turned just as I reached him. As I held out the wallet, Ill never forget his look of surprised relief and immense gratitude.
What began as following after that man turned into something quite different. Most English translations use the word follow in the final verse of the familiar Psalm 23Surely your goodness and love will follow me . And while follow fits, the actual Hebrew word used is more forceful, aggressive even. The word literally means to pursue or chase, much like a predator pursues his prey .
Gods goodness and love dont merely follow along after us at a casual pace, in no real hurry, like a pet might leisurely follow you home. No, surely we are being pursuedchased evenwith intention. Much like pursuing a man to return his wallet, were pursued by the Good Shepherd who loves us with an everlasting love .
Reflect & Pray
Do you believe Gods goodness is actually pursuing you? If not, why not, since Scripture includes the word surely?
Good Shepherd, thank You that Your goodness and love pursue me always.

TOPIC: Bold Faith
TODAYS SCRIPTURE: Acts 4:813
KEY VERSE: Salvation is found in no one else. Acts 4:12
BIBLE IN A YEAR: Ezekiel 3032 1 Peter 4
TODAYS INSIGHT: The word translated unschooled in Acts 4:13 is unique in the New Testament and is used only in this verse. In the original language, the word means without letters, illiterate, without learning. Peter and John were perceived by the religious leaders as being unversed in the learning of the Jewish schools .

They were also referred to as ordinary men, a reference to a private person, one without the kind of knowledge or education that would be useful in the public square. In the minds of the religious elite, the apostles were regular Joes. But what they did possessthe empowerment of the Holy Spirit more than compensated for their lack of formal religious training or sophistication. The Spirit continues to fill and embolden believers in Jesus today to proclaim His death and resurrectioneven to those who reject Him .
