Our Daily Bread devotion for today

The Topic of Our Daily Bread For 16th September 2022 is Hallelujah!

Bible in a Year: Proverbs 2526 2 Corinthians 9

Memory Verse: Revelation 11:15

He will reign for ever and ever.

Todays Scripture & Insight: Revelation 11:1518

While the apostle John was exiled on Patmos, God showed him through a vision His end-time program for the world, specifically His righteous wrath being poured out on all creation in three cycles of judgmentsthe seven-sealed scroll , the seven trumpets , and the seven bowls . In Hebrew numerology, the number seven speaks of totality, completion, and perfection. The number seven is used more than fifty times in the book of Revelation .

The trumpet judgments, the second cycle of divine judgments , culminate in resounding praise in heaven when the seventh trumpet is sounded . In the Bible, the trumpet is sounded to rally Gods people for worship or for war . Elsewhere, Paul said that the resurrection of the dead would be preceded by the blast of the trumpet .

Daily Bible Verse For Today: Revelation : 2123 Niv

The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.

I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

Odb Message For Today

Astonishingly, it took Handel only twenty-four days to write the orchestral music for the Messiah oratoriotoday perhaps the worlds most famous musical composition, one performed thousands of times every year around the world. The magnificent work reaches its climax nearly two hours after it begins with the most famous part of the oratorio, the Hallelujah Chorus.

As the trumpets and timpani announce the beginning of the chorus, voices layer on top of each other as the choir sings the words of Revelation 11:15: And he shall reign for ever and ever. Its a triumphant declaration of the hope of eternity in heaven with Jesus.

Many of the words in Messiah come from the book of Revelation, the apostle Johns account of a vision he had near the end of his life describing events culminating with the return of Christ. In Revelation, John returned again and again to the theme of the return of the resurrected Jesus to earthwhen there would be great rejoicing with the sound of choirs . The world will rejoice because Jesus will have defeated the powers of darkness and death and established a kingdom of peace.

One day, all the people of heaven will sing together in a magnificent choir proclaiming the majesty of Jesus and the blessing of His forever reign . Until then, we live, work, pray, and wait in hope.

Love The App When It Works

Ok, this is really getting annoying! When the app received its newest update version the app would not open! Realize everyone that updated to the new version was also experiencing the same thing! Wrote a review and the developers advised to delete the app. Once that was done the app worked. Now as of April 1, 2021 the app is blank for todays reading, and when you click on the month it opens and the spinning wheel just continues to spin like its trying to open! VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! I thought it was a April fool joke but this is getting annoying because the next day its the same! Someone on the develop team is/has been slacking on working out the quirks to this app!!! And other main issue is when the new version was updated you all took away the motivation count of how many days being read! This was a cool feature and very motivating!! WHY?!??! Not liking none of this. And when mentioned about the day count on my last review complaint, the developers only address the crashing of the new version, and failed to mentioned about the day count. Could address that as well please?!?!?!? God bless!!!

Daily Prayer For Today 18th September 2022

Lord our God, we thank you that you have given us your glorious future as the basis for our lives. We thank you that on this foundation we can forget our present troubles and believe that the power of good can move us today to oppose sin, death, and everything evil.

Free our hearts from all burdens, and grant that we may have courage to wait patiently for the great help which is to come. Grant that what is happening in the world today may somehow help toward the solution of all the problems. We praise your name, our Father in the heavens.

We praise you for the good you do for us each day and for the light you will shed one day on everything on earth, to the glory of your name. Amen.

About:

Thy words were found, and I did eat them, and thy words were unto me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by thy name, O Jehovah, God of hosts. Jeremiah 15 16.

Message: Our Daily Bread Devotional

A record rainfall more than tripled what was forecasted in Waverly, Tennessee, in August 2021. In the wake of the powerful storm, twenty people lost their lives and hundreds of homes were destroyed. Had it not been for the compassion and skill of helicopter pilot Joel Boyers, the loss of human life wouldve been even greater.

The pilot took flight in response to a phone call from a woman who was concerned about her loved ones. In addition to seeing houses on fire and cars in trees, Boyers noted, It was nothing but , raging water below me. The pilot, however, bravely proceeded to rescue twelve people from the roofs of their homes.

  • Where I Belong

At the end of a meal to mark Passover, a traditional Jewish holiday that celebrates and remembers the greatness of Gods saving work, church members expressed their joy by dancing together in a circle. Barry stood back, watching with a huge smile. He remarked how much he loved these occasions, saying, This is my family now. This is my community. Ive found somewhere where I know I can love and be loved . . . where I belong.

In his childhood, Barry suffered cruel emotional and physical abuse, robbing him of his joy. But his local church welcomed him and introduced him to Jesus. Finding their unity and joy infectious, he began following Christ and felt loved and accepted.

In Psalm 133, King David used powerful images to illustrate the far-reaching effects of the good and pleasant unity of Gods people. He said its like someone whos anointed with precious oil, the liquid running down over their collar . This anointing was common in the ancient world, sometimes as a greeting when one entered a home. David also compared this unity to the dew that falls on the mountain bringing life and blessing .

Oil releases a fragrance that fills a room and dew brings moisture to dry places. Unity too has good and pleasant effects such as welcoming those who were alone. Lets seek to be united in Christ so that God can bring about good through us.
